Young Jack

You blush sweetly, under hand As I study for your reaction I am getting my satisfaction But no headway made on land Can you repel your comfort As true compliment is paid Searching for connection made Ships to dock at port Intrigues your youth to me Subtle tension in your shy smile Dare I go to far, I dare to see Clinging to charm and wile The electric sent, it grabbed for me I can only dream, just for awhile

I like this... It has a little cuteness to it.

Hi, Andrea, this is an interesting one. I like the "subtle tension" of this one. It is not really a sonnet, but it is a great little rhyming poem. You should just call it rhyme! I like how you finished with "I can only dream, just for awhile" Many things in life make us feel that way!!

Thanks for your help on this first sonnet, i was trying to learn Petrarchan and Shakepearean. I forgot the final couplet! I took the scheme from Browning. Learning from a book on my own , so all help is really appreciated! I know I can do better, thanks for the comment! Love your work!
