You Silence Me

You buy my silence with a fervent kiss
And hope that I forget what is amiss
You buy my silence with a gentle touch
A touch that I have longed for, oh, so much
You silence me with hungry, pleading eyes
That make my heart forget your promised lies
You silence me in passionate embrace
And rest upon my breast your angel face
You silence me with words I long to hear
A whispered breath of love, “I’m always near”
You silence me with love through fevered night
So that the wrong you’ve done fades from my sight
You silence me, but then you softly leave
And in the silence, I am left to grieve
