Yesterday

Yesterday Yesterday I stood there by the ocean All my tears did flow My feet so deep enmeshed in sand Troubles washed away by ocean waves Seemed the time now to let them go So today I feel a load has lifted Far from me it washed them Away, and I feel free. Now it’s time to look on forward It seems my night has turned to day Looks like the sun is breaking Though some clouds still hide the way They’re blue skies that soon will show as Here I stand and watch. prepared To face today and Stay any storms on my tomorrow. Oh, sad days of yesterday I look forward and not back Believe in new tomorrows and In new steps taken without slack Yesterday was yesterday acrostic poem using the words in the first verse of "Yesterday" by Lennon and McCartney

Nice work Sue. A bit off the nostalgic regret theme I was looking for, based on the song, but a positive message. I see some poetic cliches and a bit of awkward phrasing that if tweaked, would improve the quality greatly. Congratulations. Cheers, Roy

Thanks. Yes, I so believe that our yesterdays were the building blocks for our todays and help us to forge into our tomorrows.
