Worse

Sometimes people feel as if They’re living with a curse. If you think about it, though, Of course, things could be worse. Life is filled with obstacles And challenges adverse, But when you stumble, keep in mind That some folks have it worse. Nature’s indiscriminate When wreckage she’ll disperse, Yet even if you’ve borne the brunt, Things might have turned out worse. Existence has one go-around; We don’t get to rehearse. Though critics gnash their teeth and howl, Still, it could well be worse. This little pearl of wisdom Works in any universe; No matter how you’re suffering, There’s always room for worse. For up until the moment when You’re riding in a hearse, We never know what lies ahead; Misfortune may reverse.

Ilene, There's so much wisdom and good sense in your Rhyme... I prayed for this poor guy who was interviewed on Tv..he was in such a dark place...he'd lost a lot of property, his business was ruined. But like us all at one time or another he only saw the glass half full...His whole family was saved! Thanks for writing this...so relevant. Love, Annalise

I am not a pro on any form of poetry but...I know when I read a poem if I have enjoyed it. Now I have read yours and I have indeed enjoyed it Ilene. I wish you a wonderful weekend and hope you find much inspiration to continue with your writing endeavors. Love, Carol

What a clever ending to a very clever poem. It makes me fairly grateful for the place that I call home. I'm not going to stand up and start to wave a flag. But I think there's room to stop thinking my life is just a drag. :)
