Words

Words are what bring emotions to life Words spoken or written with meanings rife Taking away sorrows or towing sadness in it's wake Capable of breathing life into, or take life away Words badly chosen can make people blue Creating expressions of feelings, too raw to be true And one reacts to reading the poetry of a loved one's tears With tears in one's poetry, echoing deep fears Words flow out of me with intentions best So that our issues are resolved; laid to rest And begin life anew, and of joy and togetherness we may speak But the lilt of my text reveals to you, only meanings you seek I am misunderstood even with thoughts clear Causing grief and misery to those near and dear Should I stop expressing myself, and bury my thoughts inside Or should I bury myself, in my final place to hide
