Words
Hear the voice of congregation
How they raise, how they praise
To their leader and their God
How they raise
See the money and confetti
Watch it fall, watch them all
Watch them fall on broken knee
Watch them all
When they’re winning, oh they’re singing
To the ringing of the words
To the ringing of his words have you heard?
Oh the musketeers and puppeteers
Are ringing to the words
How they propagate the words, words, words
See the lectern shining alter
How it stands, it commands
Where they sacrifice they hope
How it stands
Like the ark to shield the puppet
Reappears the musketeer
To a roaring king’s reception
Musketeer!
“King will please us!” (civil Jesus)
And he’ll seize us with the words
Oh he pleased us with words we preferred
All his vowing, now we’re bowing
‘Cause he pleased us with the words
How they campaign careful words, words, words
Now our banners and our flags
What a shame, they’re all the same
Just like pawns we vote as minions
All the same
But the faithful can’t be wrong
In such a group of hoopla soup
Stirred with reassuring nods
The minion soup
Ah the steeple filled with people
And the people filled with words
Chime the steeple bells with words have you heard?
We’ve erected, he’s elected!
Glory people’s God of words
And now the promises… the words, words, words!
