Wooden Suits
Wooden Suits - or What I learned on the web today
In Popular Science – May, 1930
The ladies were pictured all happy and flirty
Posed on the beach, they thought they looked good
In bathing suits made out of thins pieces of wood
Fashioned of spruce
The suits had a use
They were said to help some swimmers float
But the looks they’d attract
When the wood warped and cracked
I fear there’d be no antidote
So without a doubt
The fashion died out
And I’d have to say for the good
For when I’m at the shore
My eyes would be sore
If I’m constantly looking at wood
