Within My Head

With two left feet, no sense of rhythm, Murmur of voices, giggles and gasps Comes within earshot when I dance. Oh, but in my head I dance seductively, Grinding hips and dippin' with Patrick Swayze. That 'climatic lift' in Dirty Dancing, no problo, I fly in the air with grace and flair. Repeated cheers and bravos I do hear, For I now dance within my head.

Thank you Harry for the delightful comment. I haven't been writing lately, recovering from surgery. The mind is spaced-out with drugs for another week or two.

I took lessons recently iin "West Coast Swin" and you are right - it is easier to dance in the mind's eye. Nice verse here. Peace and Love Matthew Anish

Connie, magical imagery of dancing with Patrick in my head. One of my favorite movies of all time. Very uplifting and great inspiration for a poem :)

There's always a first time for everything, and yes you may have the next dance but you must do the 'climatic lift'. Lol warm Smiles, Connie

Sometimes, we just don't have the courage to get up and demonstrate our moves at clubs and parties. Good write.

I know exactly what you mean by this, I surely only dance within my head because I REALLY can't dance...I'm terrible at it! I truly enjoyed reading this delightful poem this evening! What a truthful piece, at least for me it is anyway!

Russell thank you for the visit and you delightful comment. Keep dancing within your head. Anything is impossible, Fred Astaire, John Trovolta, or even bebopping moves. Warm Smiles, Connie
