Winter's Touch

Winter's touch 'pon the peach orchard
Gray limbs await spring's buds
Lavender beauties adorning
When deer passed their ruts

Winter's bare hold dark and dreary
Nature trapped within its spell
All buds captured in its lair
Joy could be quickly quelled

Then sunlight reaches through the gloom
Instantaneously gray removed
Warmth touches down to the sinew
Such a time now approved

Winter's peach orchard bare not barren
Spring will come and give birth
Time will call forth its forgotten
Come love dancing with mirth

Sara-thank you for your warm welcome and for this poem. I had such a day, sunlit during a winter day: without the dreary gray, we would not rejoice in the light of sun! Beautiful poem, I am touched. So glad to be here! My voice is still here! Barbara boyd

Thank you Sara for your comments on my Phrasis.A Phrasis is a structured verse where the poet uses selected prose phrases of another writer’s(not a poet) to compile unique poetry therefrom as a tribute thereto, the word phrasis is Greek for phrase. Also for your thoughts about my wife who has made a good recovery this year from her op but has had a couple of other minor health issues.Christian blessing for 2014 to you and your family.rgds Brian

You did a lovely job with this poem, Sara. I sure remember you liking the Poulter's measure. I love how the sun can warm a winter's blue day.

on my winter's road poem, no there was not a crash. I was basing it on something that actually happened to myself many years ago. My car spun around a full U turn and ended up in the other side of the highway and going in the right direction though opposite of what I wanted!!
