Loose green tendrils hanging low
kiss the soft green earth, the bough
kneels with the wind as if in prayer,
a penitent so humble, so subservient.
A pliant bow that's unreleased,
and like to spring to heaven with a swish,
a stately, monumental king
of meadow and a murmuring stream,
in haze concealed, a misty dream,
a graceful monolith 'twould seem,
cloaked in the blue-grey hush.

this is utterly gorgeous. I love poems about willows. thanks for your comment on my butterfly kisses. I have another one based on the same event that I may or may not post for that contest about a magical moment. It may be too sickening romantic for some people!!Glad you enjoy that kind of thing. By the way, this one gets a fave.

I've been waiting for you Keith. And this is worth it. You are of the old masters indeed. "a penitent so humble, so subservient. A pliant bow that's unreleased," It is so hard to pick out lines with each so linked like a family of brilliant verse like picking out a favorite son or daughter. Sweeping, weeping. love, Kathy
