Who Knows

Cicadas create their raucous song, a breeze cools my face, as I walk along. The sky is grey with patches of blue, when suddenly, I think of you. Your sparkling eyes, and smiling face, the ruby red lips that I loved to taste. I wonder now, where in the world you are, are you close, or are you afar. Did you break my heart just for fun, or was it that you felt, you had to run. That I guess I'll never know, except that I loved you so. Who knows what might have been, had you not flown away, on that fateful day.
