Whirlpool

Luckless vessel plucked from the surface; sucked into uncharted fathoms. Relentless, roiling vortex consumes all evidence. Sated, exhausted, swirling eddy dissipates. All is calm.

I see from the comment below that Susan and I more or less share the same views, John! I can add that this whirlpool can be a metaphor in which you are the vessel being sucked in by life's vortex. ~ Regards // paul

An excellent nonet John. I can hear the water swirling and see its spinning centered depression pulling everything down into itself. Your third line is descriptively powerful, I just love the use of the word 'roiling' it's just such a great verb! Your last four lines ends your poem in a vivid contrast to your top lines which is awesome.. A vibrant and potent write that I enjoyed! A great first write too!! :)

Thanks for the lovely comments on this poem (and my other ones)... did you mean "big" rather than "bog"? :)
