Where We End

Where we End By Laura Dee Battle January 15, 2015 The vision here will stay awhile The crashing waves; the extra mile A peaceful bliss of togetherness A raging storm behind our kiss It's desolate, but so serene Our hands will hold all reasoning We made a home; it isn't much We made a dream with just a touch There's no one here to take away The nothingness of where we stay No sirens sound, no car alarms No judging eyes that mean us harm We do not need electricity When everything is what we see No need for wake-up calls to arms No enemies that mean us harm Like I said, it sure isn't much Our demons do not need a crutch Time standing still where we can fill Our windowsill up on this hill These images, our eyes believe More than our hopes could ever grieve Cause we will hold these memories Until the end of all our dreams A rustic house we built ourselves With books for days up on the shelves The coffee steam inside the breeze The sun will rise above our disease This eternal song, forever long Knowing they could never say we're wrong We can simply be the sum of you and me Away from the all the things we'll never be I'm looking down the merging songs The sun that finds where it belongs It gives us light to find our hands Unspoken words our love demands It isn't much, but this is ours The world we left was so bizarre It broke us down in to the lies Survive the tortured tears we cried It's not the life we hoped to find It's knowing that our peace is kind I cannot say where this will be Just casting pain into the sea
