when the river turns to ice her touch lies frozen solid cold forbidden calculations how to stay restricted access hard on thoughts of summer wanderings invitations buried under sad emotions slow the inches of a weary crossing silent in response a sudden crack that slithers piercing the sound of fear beneath my feet silent is the answer shall I wait or shall I walk so tender will the split in trust wide open try still not one reply to die in vain for smiling crying over what was once so sweet running water over babbling beds of rock enthusiasm of a younger stream flying now confined defiant in a stubborn season residue of rusting propositions silent is my call

Gerrit in answer to your question on blogs. Go to left side of main page you will see Member Area inside the box click member area when that page comes up in the center of that page scroll down to Premium Member Links click on Submit a blog entry (New). Hope this has helped you. Love, Carol

Gerrit, all too well I recall skating and hearing the sudden severing crack. My fear was enormous as I had seen a young boy fall through the ice and die. Of course, there is more than one way to interpret this wonderful poem. I hope to see more of your work. Carolyn
