When That Time Comes

When that time comes Written By Dean Masciarelli Wednesday, March 17, 2010 When that time comes And my life here has come to an end I do have one final request from all of my loved ones Who are still alive and amongst the living Carry my ashes onto a sail boat and take me out to sea And when you see the sun going down and you can see the moon on the horizon and a lone seagull that’s flying on its own That’s when I would like you to light A few candles in my name And then sing me some farewell songs In a location that is peaceful and serene and truly divine And when you are finally done singing your farewell songs Say your final goodbyes and a few prayers for me And release all of my ashes into the deep dark blue sea So that I can rest peacefully in a place where I truly belong

Sounds like a great way to say farewell, Dean. Some cultures do cast their dead out to sea and light the wooden boats on fire. I couldn't think of a better send off. Very nice writing! Love, Carolyn
