What's It All About
Youth
Illusions and aspirations,
Dreams flow like rivers
Empowered by youth.
Impatient from all restraints,
Breaking free of parents' vices.
On the road to freedom
Trying to find one's own.
The idea of a lifespan is
Furthest from the mind.
Thinking we know everything,
But little wisdom did we have.
It's the folly of our youth.
Elderly
Youthful identity and vitality
Is very difficult to surrender.
Wrinkles and gray hair abound.
Life is approaching its end,
No time for "what ifs" and regrets.
As it goes, retaining a little spark,
Keeps the engine firing a while longer,
Or until God decides to call us home.
Death
Our final act on earth-
Just before death we prepare
Our greatest journey yet.
The finality of our physical existence,
Our souls passing into spiritual eternity or void.
Heaven is more beautiful than can be described,
For the believers.
