What You Taught Me

What you taught me means more to me, It resides so deep inside it set my heart free, I watched and listened and found out for myself, Many times tripping n falling more than anyone else, But, oh, that love was never considered a mistake, And I've had a million people judge me for living this way, Why do you give your heart n time so easily, Why do you share so much, it makes you look naive,, How it makes me look isn't the point, It's the intent of my heart, it's my choice, People have mistaken my heart, and have judged from outside, But if you saw the love I cherish in my heart you would understand why, My image is not important, it's the meaning behind what I do, And God sees the love I hold inside, I would rather see the truth, And the only truth I know is the love underneath the world's lies, So when it deceives or manipulates me, I'm always viewing from the inside, Compassion takes ahold of me, makes me understand, That God has a reason for everything and sees the heart of man,
