What Does a Poet See

What Does A Poet See What does a poet see? It is a consciousness others lack? Is that how we see beauty in everything? The hidden world inside a blooming flower So many colors in a sunset Even the reflective surface in an ice cube Our minds see so much that others do not see Our words describe the reality we see A reality we created as our own Our pens are the paint brushes of the gods We share feelings no one will talk about If they realize that they even exist What does a poet see? We see beauty and hope in everything If not for the lowly poet How would the world know that beauty exists?

I really enjoyed this. To paint vivid portraits, of the way a poet sees the world around them, in a beautiful way, is an art form like no other. Thanks for sharing.

Robert, what a beautiful and exquisite commentary and compliment to all poets. Thank you. I like to think of poets as God's conversation personified. God bless from Gwen.

So true, Robert, but we are blessed by the knowledge that as they read our works, they too will 'see' through our words and gain that insight! Well written! Love Jane
