Welcome Darkness
Welcome Darkness
the darkness seems more comfortable today
welcoming me in while it takes the light away
coloring the shadows black, removing hopeless gray
the darkness seems more peaceful in the din
of the marketplace of reason’s vain attempts
to understand why it always comes again
the darkness hides the future from the past
imprisoning the feelings from themselves
where darkness is the only shadow cast
the darkness cares not for the light it must betray
though the light may crack the barrier of black
the darkness seems more comfortable today
