Wash Away the Grey

The twists of fate drive deep on a sleepless winter's night drowning in the depths of despair wondering if you were ever really there Free floating away in your fantasy as the hint of whiskey hits the brain surrendering to a soothing smile and succumbing to the cherry grain I'm the ice melt evoking all your flavors that you would never dare to throw away drink in all of me this finest hour and into the night I'll wash away your grey

I needed sleeping tablets to get me through despair. Only recently my eldest told me the youngest asked her at the time "Why is mammy staggering?" as their delicious effect told hold. We all need temporary relief Tim.

Oh, that last stanza, Tim! Keeping that scent, that fragrance after the ice melts away.. Washing away the grey. It's melancholic, beautiful.
