Veteran Almost a Goner

Veteran Almost a Goner Were all bodily harmed and almost a goner Yet they still returned home with much honor And how sad it is and breaks our hearts See them standing or sitting with missing parts. History has proven and always fully shown When there had ben death or a broken bone Hardships handicapped continued to endure Modest and wanting to remain obscure. Humiliated did go through night and day What a terrible price they had to pay We remained at home and our faces feeding Successful program should start and be leading. No handicapped soldier shall be left alone And should be treated like one of our own Every time I start to look in my mirror Start to cry and my eyes become tearier. When will we finally wake up again On a positive note this surely will end As long as we face it and away do not run Thanking everyone for what they have done. How true, we too easily forget what the vets have sacrificed for our freedoms. Thanks for the reminder. DMB

Being a retired veteran myself with a father who was killed on active duty in the Navy on board the Aircraft Intrepid, I am reminded of it every day. The songs sung at last Sunday's service were played at my father's funeral who was found missing at Sea. Jim Horn
