Unrequited Love

He lays awake alone at night, wishing he could hold her tight. Battling an internal fight, His head and heart don't feel quite right, He loves her. He sees her when he shuts his eyes, Amongst the stars and fireflies, When he awakes he starts to realize, A little part inside him dies, He loves her. She comes but once upon a dream, Appearing through a moon's soft beam, And in her smile there is a gleam, Tells him nothing is but what it seems, He loves her. Her every inch is pure perfection, And with her there's that spark connection, She holds to the key to his affection, She'd understand through his reflection, He loves her. A million hugs a million sighs, Could never dry the tears he cries, It seems no matter how he tries, She'll never come to realize, He loves her. She's every thought that fills his head, And every tear he's ever shed, And when she awakes in her own bed, She won't find him but thinks instead, She loves him
