This bottom picture is kind of what happened to my hubbie on one of his truck runs several years ago. He said the low clearance sign was hidden from view. That was a horrific day for him and he was not able to drive a semi across the country after that without shaking when he came to an underpass!!

Caution. Watch your head. This underpass is very low! Is it one you think you can get under? Unless you’re blind, it’s something that instinctively a driver ought to know. So if you drive a great big truck, you’ll know you’ve made a blunder if coming out the other side, you find your roof from your cab is torn asunder! Oh Dear Maybe they need to put automatic sensors on these trucks that will flash a big red light on the dash. Seems it could save a lot of heart-break, let alone, 'truck-break'. Lol congrats. SuZ

Congrats, Andrea, on your HM. We have a low bridge in Derby that claims at least two trucks a year so, yes, frightening. Viv x

"if coming out the other side your roof is torn asunder". Fits better. You just wanted to wax archaic.

So many truck drivers have done this. Your brother Tony has done this, your husband. What are they thinking when they do it? Love your humor in this poem.

Cute poem to go with the pictures..My husband owned his own business but he always worked out doing what had to be done even though he was the owner..He was driving a roll off truck one day and they had not measured a new container and it was about 1/4 inch too high for a train trellis..He had a compression fracture L1/L2..Has had problems with his back every since..Good warning for truckers to know their equipment and the roads..Thanks for stopping by my page..Sara

This is a nice warning for truck drivers. They are sometimes involved in terrible accidents. Personally I don't even drive a car anymore. Maybe it is time for me to write an article about truckers! Peace & Love Matthew Anish
