Twenty Years

We’ve been together twenty years, But now you’ve turned and walked away, Ignoring reason, pleas and tears, You’ve found another place to stay. Your heart is colder, harder now, Exchanging love for thoughtless lust, Forsaken, like your wedding vow, My future crumbles into dust. Sorry this isn't jolly, lol - just letting off steam... for Susan's contest

We suffer in the degree we do not accept life. I am certain happiness will be back and stronger. your writing, poetically speaking, is beautiful and you would not have written unless this has taken place. Thank you for sharing.

Hey Jack. just wading through the soup for the first time in a long time and happened on this wicked write of yours. I gotta say .. that situation really creates a vacuum in the worst way. I am sorry. Wish to hell I could fix it or maybe it already is. Who knows anymore. I don't. I did like your poem though. God bless you. your poet friend Bob

Heartfelt write....so sorry you are in pain. They say when one door closes another opens...just don't look at the door that closed for too long and miss the one that opens. Hugs

Glad you enjoyed Snow Flake, Jake. As a cliche' goes; "Nothing is Forever." Snow Flake was about as quick a relationship as I could have asked for. It too disolved for a reason... YarnSpinner

you have every RIGHT to be steamed,Jack. Such a nice guy as you. You keep those poems coming. it is good to rant and rave and at least you do it succinctly and WELL!!!! Thanks for being a superb friend to me. I wish for you a new love and a bright new year.

I certainly can imagine the absolute heartache you are feeling right now! My first wife left me twice in our 41 year marriage and came back each time "for the sake of the children"!!! She passed away with breast cancer in 1999 and have since remarried to a wonderful sweet lady for the past 11 years! Although difficult right now, try to look to the future with optimism! Jack

Shucks, Jack, this is just so sad :( ... but it is definitely good to be able to let off some steam through poetry-- I wish you a better year -- I'm so sorry about what your wife did--twenty years is a lifetime for some-- but somehow, I see that you have the strength to rise above this, and I trust that you will-- Draw strength from those who love and treasure you! God bless you , Jack!

Jack: As the saying goes... "Been There-Done That." "It's not a picnic". After seeing 23 years dissolve, I've entered into a new committment 32 years ago. I have never been so blessed. Please read Love---"Needs No Title". It's not a cure-all, but it is a yard stick to measure by. YarnSpinner
