Dreams Fall Apart
Lies entangled in a web of deceit
culminate in anger and self-defeat.
Walls you erected to shield you from pain
unintentionally block love's refrain.
Love requires patience; there is no shortcut,
even when doubt leaves a knot in your gut.
And fear keeps anxieties well-nourished,
devastating dreams where hope once flourished.
When egos insist on what cannot be,
emotions get imprisoned with no key.
Anxieties climb, nerves get tightly wound,
and though you search for love, it can't be found.
Treating love as an extension of lust,
betrayal devastates the bonds of trust.
And overwhelmed by tears, dreams fall apart
as a torrent of feelings drowns your heart.
