True Blue
This is my humble tribute to
the lovely color known as blue
whether your a blue so bright
or blue that's darker than the night.
I love you in most every shade
that the good Lord ever made
like blue of endless azure sky
or blue that's baked into a pie.
The cobalt on a moonlit night
when the stars are shining bright
swimming in an inky sea
is such a precious sight to me.
Here's to the blue that's on the jay
who chases other birds away
and blue shadows in the snow
as the evening starts to grow.
Then there's the blue that is so light
that you could almost call it white
and baby blue that looks so sweet
as booties on such tiny feet.
So here's to you dear color blue
the only color known as true
a lovely color through and through
this is my humble poem to you.
