Tree Rape

Scarlet and golden etched, autumn leaves reflect summer's apprehended glory incised in deep veined images. Released, they sigh earthward like final breaths. Sharp pungence ripens , musty tang, a piquant vaporous mustard milked from forest loam's black breasts beneath life's heavy kneading tread. Sudden, determined winds attack raping writhed skeletal remains; stripped spring's green clad darlings. Feigning innocence, the gray storm fiend curtains guilt beneath pure, snow white overlay. faye, this is another beautiful write from you, and I suspected it was yours as soon as I read it because it is so reminiscent of the other one; fantastic imagery, and I love that line "...they sigh earthward like final breaths" you've really taken to heart all that I said in my blog and you're just flying with it! congrats on your top win in my contest :)

FAntastic!! I came looking for the turtle poem and saw this one. Now I will continue my turtle search. Faye, you have become one of my very favorite poets and your remind me a bit of Sandra Adams, a good friend of mine here who has not written in a while, so she has not been around since you started coming here. check her out. She is awesome with her free verse.

Such incredible imagery I can picture the scene in my mind and i feel chilled with the biting winds swirling round. Very clever the way you liken the tree to being raped being stripped bare and so vulnerable. Am favouriting this! Hugs Jan xx
