Transformed

Born in valley's mountainous range Wandered near rivers sparkling clear Knelt in havens carved in forests Escaped to dwell at ocean's shore Enticed to follow budding dreams And there, while chasing butterflies A parched and barren desert bloomed KA 07/24/13 Revised

Just beautiful! I agree, we adapt to our habitats like chameleons. Sometimes, we don't have a choice, the wind takes us wherever it wants to! Very nicely done!....Thank you for the nice comments on my poem, "I Want To Be Yours". It means so much! This is the first contest that I have ever won!

Thanks Karen, I loved hearing from you and your journey. I am familiar with some of these places....(presently living near the Northern Californian border).....we visit Oregon often, and have family roots in Utah.....but I grew up near desert country below the San Jacinto Mountains near Palm Springs........so all your memories are similar to my own. :) Thanks for sharing.!

Carrie, thank you ... I was born in a valley near a mountain in Utah, moved to Portland Oregon near the ocean, and then finally came to the desert of Las Vegas, Nevada, just a short glimpse of my journey :)

The faintest dream dawns in the mind. To be exposed for all to find. The barren vastness comes into view. As the artist paints anew?
