To Sonia (Lg)

I am your windbreak Your sea wall The friendly perimeter of your skin Such a very important nothing at all The prize you always want to win Your bosom maternal Anchored my dreams for another way You moored me When my sea was slipping away And gave me the memory That will not cease in death And all the tension with it I flourish without my fruit I blossom Without the nurturing of root We both would consider better alternatives To repeat performances Except for the certainty ... the superlatives Of expectation in romances Dusty in old books We have no covenant and no demand You will seize the day And I will ponder how the thing looks.
