Tiptoe
A dark and dreary road
Quietly I tiptoed
All battered I looked around
No sign of life, just barren ground
Wind blew, harsh and cold
Keeping its story untold
With its command, the leaves danced
Roaring like a tigress, I stood tranced
But I did not have time
So I continued my climb
I did not know where I was going
Darkness all around, I was just tiptoeing
Far away a wolf was crying
As the cry kept amplifying
I wondered what it was sad about
I reasoned it may have a doubt
I Looked forward, still no light
No mercy for my plight
I looked up at the shimmering sky
Oh! How bad I wanted to fly
I thought why not give it a try
It's always nice to soar high
I came down with a thud
Grass turned red with my trickling blood
I looked around for my friends
All I saw was broken ends
A tear came rolling down
I wiped it off with a little frown
It was just a modest fall
So I came back tall
And as I tiptoed
On that dreary road
The wolf kept crying
And the cry kept amplifying
I wondered what it was sad about
I reasoned it may have a doubt
