Thunderstorm

On my bed, Teeth gritted, Eyes shut, Lashes moist, Fist clenched, Heart quickened, Breath uneven, In a child's pose. In darkness, Bright flashes, Darkness again. Ground rumbled, Walls shook, All alone, Nothing to hold, In a child's pose. A reality away, I struggled, Thoughts circled Where am I? Where is everyone? What is place? Is this home In hell? Fear crept, Need grew, To leave, To escape, To get out, Temples throbbed, My mind torn To shreds. Darkness, Bright flashes, Darkness again. Finally, I woke up, On my bed, At home, To a thunderstorm outside.
