Thoughts I Thought and They Were Gone
Thoughts thoughts
Thoughts bursting
At wrongs and rights
Falling from the sky
What nights mean
Where they begin
And end for me
I see the sun falling
And my hearts dropping
Behind the mountains
We pass
Quickly we drive
Just as quickly as I
Realize what I'm doing
Thought thoughts
Thoughts bursting
At seams I thought I
Had mended with lies
I made myself believe
Their unraveling
Quickly we pass ideas
We left unsaid, maybe
Baby we can pretend for
A while more, maybe it's just
Me pretending and nothing more
I've always been on my own
And here I am riding fast
Images blend, burning into my head
What else can I say
That hasn't already been said
Thoughts thoughts
Thoughts burning
I knew this ending
Before I even saw the
Commercial for it
And the suns rising
Above my head
Leaving the night behind
Heading north and maybe
The cold will freeze these feelings
And the spring will melt them
Away, melting my iced heart
I will be fine with thoughts
My thoughts that keep
Me thinking, thinking
And moving on
