Dear Christina we remember thee
Your verse,your hymns,true celebrity
In prolific,perfect poetry-
We remember,yet are not sad
Such genius, can only make us glad.
Christina Rossetti died (29th) Dec in 1894.Best known for her carol 'In the Bleak
Mid -Winter and her poem 'Remember' which starts 'Remember me when I am gone away/gone far
away into the silent land/When you can no more hold me, by the hand..and
concludes ...Better by far you should forget & smile/Then that you should remember & be sad.
End of year... a day to remember a favourie poet
