Things You Cannot Do
You cannot belly laugh
at a funeral
Nor you can bewail
at a wedding;
You cannot shed crocodile tears
when hurt,
You cannot turn blue
When feeling blue
Nor turn red when angry;
Feeling envious
won't turn you green!
You cannot eat a horse
no matter how hungry
Nor drink an ocean
no matter how thirsty;
You cannot take back
words once spoken
Nor retrieve a bullet
once fired.
You cannot dress up
a naked truth
Nor color a white lie;
Walls may have ears
But you cannot make them
tell the tales of yore;
You cannot hear
with the ear of a corn
Nor see
with the eye of a needle.
You cannot hear yourself snoring,
Nor fly away
with your imagination.
You cannot do nothing
Nor go nowhere?
You cannot grasp a bubble
Nor seize the time.
