Thief of Night
as the sun rises,
daybreak seizes night
the morning, a thief of love
sunbeams capture stars
no, not gently but boldly
reaching to steal moonlight
as lovers mourn night
dawn's light dries the morning dew
left by midnight's sweet shower
Floodgates are opened
by the night's hastened downpour
still, lovers seek sun showers
to quench their passions
The gray clouds are not enough
Just a constant reminder
