After Vietnam I cried in the wilderness children are not for burning,but no one was listening;I hope they listen now with all their brand new toys of war.We are far from innocent me thinks. Good to be back at poetrysoup will visit more old friend.

Sigh indeed.... this kind of reminds me of a poem I wrote about war and how such memories stay alive while the good personal ones we live are left under the rug or dissipate overtime. I wish war and violence wasn't so hard-pressed in society. Always, Laura

I can't say it any better than you. It seems there is a financial incentive for fighting. I will always believe that almost all disagreements can be settled peacefully.

It's a very strange world and getter stranger by the day. I really don't understand why we cannot declare peace instead of war! It's a little tricky, but it is within our capacity.
