These Waves
your ocean waters begin to rise
It's waves make a foaming fuss
all your hopes and dreams left home
just as you thought things were bad enough
collecting experience has shown
you have always, you've always been alone
castle walls sure to take a pounding
defenses up, should you care
dearly losing faith, post-haste
take the time you've got from here to there
after all these years I'm still amazed
you'll not go under but rise above these waves
though we're not built for happy sailing
from Baltimore to this shore
obligations to engage or
take a knotted rope, struggle no more
current's none too friendly stowaways
we'll not be broken but rise to ride these waves
coast to coast most beautiful and strange
we'll not go under but rise to ride these waves
these waves
