Theatre
An actor's grind must be intense:
His stage work must delight each sense;
In every show, he must ring true
And pour his tumult out anew.
It is no light or simple task
To wear each day a different mask
And take the courage to express
Great passions painful to confess.
Whoever wishes to take aim
At immortality must claim
The highest prize on earth to find:
Remembrance in the public’s mind.
Theatre merits high esteem,
For acting is a graceful dream
Which grows on stage and takes to heart
The essence of dramatic art.
