The Year the Grizzlies Ran Wild
I remember
It was the year
The grizzlies ran wild
And the snow fell
Before autumn
Had a chance to fill the land
I remember
The cold nights
Filled with a northern wind
That pulled all the leaves
From the summer trees
Sweeping all the colors away
Leaving the forests bare
Like a picture
Taken in black and white
I remember
It was the year I awoke
And when I called your name
It returned to me
Echoing throughout the house
Without a trace of warmth
Only to fall
Soundlessly
In the emptiness
That you had left for me
I remember
That I wished
That I could not remember
At all
