The Worst Poison
The worst poison is being alone.
Unlike Thoreau's meanderings home,
where he sang of bees whistles in tome.
Besides, isolation is different from,
being alone to the bone.
Instead it means no one may come.
It kills you slow,
your friends lost in tow,
who cannot reach you;
who cannot beseech you;
to get to them where winds are blown.
Death from a thousand days.
Death from a thousand delays.
Death from silent prolonged dismay.
Death from solo stay;
a permanent and tragic slay.
Don't you bother; you have nothing to say.
