The Worst Morning After

Cursed that eve as daylight waned
Frivolity danced in the lane
My young mind was half insane
Partaking of the juniper

She kissed me - I danced with her
The berry of the conifer
Until the room was all a blur
So dizzy as I spun

A race begun that can't be won
Blind pursuit of too much fun
Painful light of morning sun
The payback of the gin

Can't remember where I've been
Paying now for last nights sins
Tsunami rolls with sick chagrin
And drowns the morning after

Your head must be pounding // a hush ultra-sounding // a whisper like canon, I guess / did Mama not teach you // after but two // you’ll be clamped in the clutch of excess? Very good entry, Craig. Good luck in the contest, my friend. Licia :-)
