The Word That Crushed the World

The car steered by I sighted the lights on the street The coffee shops and their treats The cold breezed air The ideal silence The connected ideas The concentrating consideration The contemplation of all things The girls and the boys Enjoying their time Spending it idly with no goal or dawdle The people Their days The workers Their ways The business men dashing to their jobs The old women pleading for money on the road The hot day but cool weather It all descended to that night So soft, so smooth I watched from the passenger’s seat So thoughtfully I spent my time Thinking, considering, helplessly The desire, the will, the intention Of having someone that cares Of having someone to love Of having someone to share all you’re valuable times Of having someone to take care of Of having someone to sacrifice for Wishing to have someone to think about you To admire you in every way To love you in every style To have someone that cares Someone to be the lover In my time It all collapsed to one thing It all fell down to one fact It all exploded into the word, “forbidden” I sighed vulnerably As we arrived home
