The Winter Voyage

On reaching the bank of a river, Docking in a icy bank, Snow that shined like silver, Welcomed my eyes, but was a little dank. I climbed out of my boat, The snow is a little cold, So I put my coat, But all the beauty, is as priceless as gold. My eyes met the sparkling ice, The way the colours split, With a dash of colourful slice, The scene was out of my wits. The snow was falling in flakes, Looked for a shelter, I did, From a distance I watched, as it makes, A perfect wintery grid. A cave is where I took shelter, Taunting icicles hung inside, It was a real heart melter, As a sculptor, went my pride. The river flowed in a perfect drift, So I picked my spade, and took an ice slab, Climbed my boat in a swift, Went back to my working lab.
