The Tea Cup and You

The Tea Cup And You Are you wondering, what you could have in common with a tea cup? Well let me tell you, that you have quiet a lot. Two women walked into an antique shop one day. while looking around, they saw on a shelf a beautiful tea cup. Right away they fell in love with it and they both wanted to buy it. Suddenly the tea cup started to talk to them. They were surprised, but they listen. The tea cup said - I was not always like this. At first I was only a lump of clay. One day a potter came in and saw me. He picked me up and looked at me, than He squeezed me. It hurt, but He took me home with him. There He started to mold me and it hurt. I asked him if He was done, He said - not yet. He than put me in the potter's wheel and spun me around and around, it made me dizzy. I thought He was done with me. I was wrong. He than put me in a hot oven. It was so hot, I thought I was going to die. He took me out and I was glad, it was over. I was wrong, later he painted me with beautiful colors, than added some beautiful designs. I thought to myself - this has to be over now. wrong again, He put me in a hot oven hotter then before. I thought, for sure I would die this time., but I didn't. After He took me out and I cooled down, He put a mirror in front of me. I could not believe what I saw. The change of what I started to be. I was beautiful. Before - nobody would even look at me. Now everybody wants me. The two ladies left. They did not buy the tea cup. They left it there for other people to admire....

I'm so happy that you mentioned this to me, otherwise I would not have found it. What an awesome lesson this is... and you told it in a way that is both unique and humorous. You have to go through a lot of trials and suffering before you become what you were meant to be. Stunning!

The potter does indeed know how to form the clay if we are pliable in His hand. You wrote a beautiful temstimony to this wonderful analogy Lucilla! I'm impressed :)
