The Suitcase Is Always Open

The Suitcase Is Always Open Mom and I found your suitcase today! Mom finally opened it with tears that had been tucked away for months. She said it was at the "hospital house" as she called it. I knew it was yours by the smell left on the clothes. Mom tried to keep me out of it as she packed away your clothes but I had other ideas! I couldn't wait to nuzzle, cuddle and roll your smell all over me. Yep, that's my dads smell...finally I feel at ease. Now, I can't wait to bring you prizes like I use to! Remember those little and big creatures that made mom scream? Oh, what fun we had to hear her yelp! I was wondering where you went. But I found you again. Well, maybe not in person but now all I have to do is hide in the open suitcase. If you hear a scream, I just left a surprise for you and mom! I love my new cat cave. Gone but the smell is not forgotten. Signed by Tigger

I am a recent widow full of emotions and see a story to help with that in the littlest event! I came across a suitcase while finally cleaning our bedroom but thought it was the Husbands mother suitcase so I wasn't on a hurry. But when I opened I remembered I ised it also for his clothes at the hospice house. Our cat just jumped in immediately! He smelled the husbands scent. So that is the background of the story!

Ginnie,, Welcome to Poetry soup, I hope you enjoy the community. Here, you will find friendly poets who enjoy supporting one another. I myself, enjoy reading and commenting those who want to be read. The only time I give constructive criticism is when a poet desires it. However, if for some reason the poem is not my field I will guide you to someone who is more qualified than I. Stop by and read one of my poems if you like. My poems are not perfect, but I have a feeling you might like one. I encourage you to check out the contest page and read to receive comments. Tell me a little about your poetic skills if you like. It will be my pleasure to follow and read every poem you post from here on :) We are Lucky To Have you. Your New Poet Friend @-> LINDA <-@
