I was saddened to read that the young lady in this painting was a model Sir Geoge Clausen used in several of his paintings. This fact, somehow faded my original impression and meaning of the picture. Another similar painting he did of an older man picking sones is the one that holds a greater meaning for me. I associate this wonderful Ekphrais with that image. thank you for sharing, Brian. Elaine
