Author's Notes: "The Stars at Night" is a unrhymed couplet I wrote which centers on the theme of the stars being part of God's divine providence and the metaphorical essence they provide to mankind in helping to understand God's greater purpose which transcends our daily lives here on Earth. Beyond any esoteric discussion of the stars at night, is the simple reassurance that the stars, as physical symbols, provide an all-important visual link between Man and His Maker. At the human level, the stars have always been used in commonplace settings to highlight themes of beauty, love, emotion, redemption, and romance among men and women -- but always with an eye toward a greater meaning that all people aspire to in finding their purpose and destiny in life. The Stars at Night Gazing at the stars at night I marvel at their divine beauty, Knowing that God created them as reflections of His Light. The stars in a sense serve as light markers to mankind’s Very existence on this Earth and in celestial dimensions. The stars have served as romantic backdrops for people, As they seek love, find love, and want a life together. The stars with their infinite beauty and God-like presence, Shall always have import in the lives of men and women. The darkness of night itself creates a motif in contrast to The very wonder and hope for mankind that starlight brings. Love itself serves as that very special emotion which brings Two star-crossed lovers together as one in God’s eyes in love. The key is not fear, but the ability to love and feel a spirit of Adventure as people meet, fall in love, and seek a life as one. The stars at night mirror God’s eternal presence in the Cosmos, And represent His Love and Desire to always be with mankind. The stars reflect an infinite beauty and God’s grace and love, Which shall always be part of mankind’s existence on Earth. - The night sky is an amazing phenomenon that fascinates us all - we are mesmerized by its beauty - Amazing that the stars could be thousands of years old - Those who are really clever still use the stars as a compass .... as long, long time ago :) - Anyone can fall in love under a beautiful starry sky - A wonderful poem dear Gary !!! - (t.r.) - hugs // Anne-Lise :)

Thank You Dear Anne-Lise!! Yes, the Stars have been and will always be very important to us. And you're right about stars as a compass. The manual art of celestial navigation is very much with us today. (Modern technology can go on the blink sometimes!!) The themes of love and romance will also forever be tied to nice starry moonlit nights!! We poets need them too for our poetry!! Best Always, Gary

Thanks Paul!! My wife, Ingrid, also mentioned to me my apparent affinity for couplet writes dealing with stars, starlight, and the universe. Maybe I'm slightly mystic or something. It always takes me longer to post my poetry because of my "notes." But it helps me to write the notes since they articulate usually the meaning of the poem and why I wrote it or approached a theme from a certain angle. More to follow. I'm also working on short stories now that will be in my second-planned book along with my traditional section of selected poetry. Thanks for the Congrats too!! Best Always, Gary
