The Rose

Tis the rose that wants to live
That rails against the frost,
Tightly closed, the petals warm
The autumn heart that summer lost.

The dew that drips from rose to leaf
Like tears from cheek to breast,
Once was cold, now shimmers warm
To earn, at last, its' rest.

The blackened bud, once struck with cold
Appears to others dead,
But burns within, a passionate soul,
And heart of bright and crimson red.

And bursting forth it cannot hide
The will to live within,
Its' bold and subtle softness tells
Persistent hearts can win.

What a wonderful poem of hope when all seems lost........we have all had these moments when the world comes crashing down.......yet it is sometimes the smallest thing........some example of endurance, that can give us the reason to hang in there! What a lovely reason to write this poem. Love it!

I am so honored and greatful beyond words.Lately i have been searching different avenues because I am in jeopardy of life. You have no idea what this means to me.It is just this type of thing that has givin me hope to live just one more day.I will treasure this.If you are the type of person, which i sense you are,to succeed in helping even just one person? You have succeeded.Love Colleen
