The Road To the Top
THE ROAD TO THE TOP
The road to the top is rugged
Full of extant dust and dread
Accommodating only the tough-minded
Who daily wear the toga of the dogged.
The road to the top is not for the smooth knees
Who cannot take the bull by its horns.
Many a time, labour must mix with prayers
If the wayfarer must have testimonies.
The road to the top is far and high
Breathing the breath of weariness to the thigh
Of the traveler not to further try to ply.
The road to the top is rough
But at the top lies the prize for the tough
So, take courage in your course so you can, at last, laugh.
