Author's Notes:  This romantic Shakespearean Sonnet, entitled:  "The Radiance of Our Love So True," is a love sonnet set in Iambic Pentameter.  This sonnet touches on the meeting of a man and woman for the first time, and the feeling the man has that this woman is indeed the right woman for him at their first glance of being together.  This sonnet goes on to develop this opening theme further as the couple begins to embrace and kiss as they walk on a romantic starlit night.  Next, the sonnet focuses on the new couple melding essential into "one," and sharing their love as they begin their new life journey together.  The sonnet ends on a very positive note with the discovery that the couple has indeed found such "radiance" (i.e., cheerful happiness or splendor) in their love, and they sincerely pray for God's divine love too.  As with many of my past writes of a similar nature, this is a very emotive and passionate poem because of the subject at hand being discussed.  I hope you will find this sonnet of interest!!  (Gary Bateman, December 29, 2014) (Shakespearean Sonnet)

The radiance of our love is so true, From the first time we met my dearest one. I saw your eyes, felt your joy, and I knew That no one else but you could be the one. Our first embrace was so warm and intense, And we sensed everything felt nice and right, And we kissed deeply feeling no pretense, As we strolled on that wondrous starlit night. Our hearts and souls have melded now as one, With our emotions afire my dearest! Our love and life’s journey has now begun, And we must keep us ever so nearest! We have radiance in our love so true, And pray to God for his divine love too! Hello Robert!! I missed your comment here earlier. (Sorry!! -- But I'm responding now.) I really do like writing Sonnets (as you do) for sure!! I found that I also like the Heroic Couplets too. Those with seven stanzas of two-verse rhyming lines come out roughly equal to a Sonnet, especially when they are set in Iambic Pentameter. More Sonnets and Heroic Couplets to follow in the future Robert!! Thanks too for your very high rating!! Best Always, Gary

Hello My Dear "D" -- I didn't mean that you would be moved to tears from reading my sonnet. I'm glad you liked the write. And it helps that I have Ingrid to read and review my poetry. Through Ingrid and my association with Liam, I've become more in tune with the romance-side of the house. Now it seems it's becoming more and more one of my dominant themes. Thanks for the super rating and Ingrid and I wish a most Happy New Year!! Best XOXO, Gary

Rajat, I just replied to your comment on my Rosalia epic. Glad you enjoyed this sonnet. I am finding the sonnet (both Shakespearean and Petrarchan), along with the "Heroic Couplet" format tend to be my favorite forms of poetic writing for sure. I like to master the words, images and thoughts and then set them in rhyme and meter. Some shy away from these because they are not so easy to conceive and write, but I've gotten used to putting them together. WE DO NOW HAVE MUCH SNOW HERE IN SCHOENINGNEN AND THE CURRENT TEMP IS "0" GRAD!! Best Wishes and Our Love . . . Gary
